Binderman Group

Financial Reporting and Assurance

From the start, Binderman Group placed a high importance on creating a strong Financial Reporting and Assurance practice. The enthusiastic and dynamic professionals associated with our team are in tune with today’s constantly evolving financial reporting and auditing issues. Providing deep technical expertise, these specialists have experience with companies from the venture capital-funded development stage to large complex national and international organizations with revenues of over $1 billion.  Many of our colleagues we engage have served in the largest accounting firms and with industry-leading entities; thus, our teams contribute salient business insights and advice that go far beyond the “basic” audit.

Drawing on our comprehensive experience, we outline an audit, review and compilation approach that will identify business risks (which have a propensity to transform into financial risks on your financial statements), assess and improve accounting controls, plan transactions, and determine the appropriate accounting treatment while improving the quality of the information that impacts internal reporting and your decision-making abilities.  For example, by asking the right questions of a client recently, we have determined that its prior accounting firm had improperly included “consignment” inventory on its personal property tax returns and paid taxes on items to which they did not have title for many years.  Because this mistake occurred in the filing of several years' returns, the correction allows the client a significant tax refund on personal property taxes. By asking the right questions on the front end, we are able to not only issue an assurance-related opinion, but also add value – even financial value through situations such as this.

Our audit and assurance expertise is founded in the following industries:
  • Hospitality – Hotel and Restaurant Services
  • Professional Services
  • Government Contracting
  • Construction – Residential and Commercial
  • Real Estate – Commercial and Residential
  • Technology Companies – Hardware, Software and Software for Services
  • Telecommunications
